Meet The Team

Karey A. Geddes

ViaNova Capital Group, LLC is led by mortgage veteran Karey Geddes, who has over 22 years experience in residential lending, including building and managing mortgage conduits. From 2013 to 2015, Ms. Geddes helped launch and build the Premium Point/Winwater conduit from startup to over $1 billion origination volume in less than a year. In 2014, WinWater completed three securitizations totaling $790 million, and in 2015 completed six deals totaling $2 billion. From 2002 to 2008, Ms. Geddes was a founding partner at The Winter Group, helping to grow the self-funded business from $15 million to over $180 million within three years. Prior to The Winter Group, Ms. Geddes was a VP at CSFB and DLJ in the residential mortgage business, starting in Transaction Management and ending in Sales. Ms. Geddes holds a B.A. in Finance and Economics from Pace University.

Andrew K. Davilman

Chief Operating Officer of Cohen & Company Inc.’s Asset Management Division and as a Managing Director, Sales and Special Projects with J.V.B. Financial Group, LLC, Cohen & Company’s broker-dealer subsidiary. Mr. Davilman spent 16 years at Goldman, Sachs & Co. (“Goldman Sachs”) in a variety of positions. As a Managing Director, from 2006 to 2010, Mr. Davilman founded and co-ran the Structured Credit Sales desk. Prior to that, Mr. Davilman worked in institutional mortgage sales from 1998 to 2006. From 1994 to 1998, Mr. Davilman traded mortgage-backed security derivatives including, inverse floaters, inverse IOs, IOs and POs, and CMO residuals. Before joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Davilman traded mortgage-backed security derivatives at Lehman Brothers from 1989 to 1993. Mr. Davilman has expertise in credit default swaps, collateralized debt obligations and collateralized loan obligations, as well as other derivatives and cash instruments typically traded across the fixed income universe. Mr. Davilman holds an A.B. in Religion from Dartmouth College and holds an M.B.A from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

Stephen Mongiardo

Vice President, has over 14 years’ experience in residential lending. From 2014 through 2018, Mr. Mongiardo was the lead associate of the mortgage practice at C&A Consulting, LLC, whose clients included the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York, Ocwen, Invictus Capital (Verus), and Hudson Advisors. At C&A Consulting, Mr. Mongiardo was engaged in correspondent loan production, NPL acquisition, servicing regulatory compliance, and non-QM origination. Areas covered for buy-side clients included authoring private-label investor guidelines, supervising the creation of automated collateral tracking, property valuation, custodian exception monitoring, and repurchase/put-back management. Areas covered for residential servicing clients included identifying regulatory issues, servicing comment review, and technology implementation. As a collateral analyst, Mr. Mongiardo focused on data and monthly servicing updates and senior underwriting for the accurate implementation of an underwriting process that included both technology and staffing requirements. Prior to C&A Consulting, Mr. Mongiardo worked in the underwriting department at PHH Mortgage, focused on HARP and private label underwriting, and served as a Collateral Analyst at the Winter Group.
